$10 Million HALF OF A YELLOW SUN finally Secures Nigerian Release Date

For those in Nigeria who have been following the developments surrounding the film adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’sHalf of A Yellow Sunwhich reportedly cost about $10 Million to make, you should mark your calendars and save the date as the movie now has a release date for Nigerian cinemas – April 12th. Half of a Yellow Sun follows Olanna (Newton) and Kainene (Rose), glamorous twins from a wealthy Nigerian family. Returning to a privileged city life in newly independent 1960s Nigeria after their expensive English education, Olanna shocks her family by going to live with her lover in the dusty university town of Nsukka, and Kainene turns out to be a successful businesswoman when she takes over the family interests — and surprises herself when she falls in love with Richard (Mawle), an English writer. The Nigerian release date for the movie comes after the movie has been released in Australia on the 27th of March and in the United Kingdom on the 11th of April. The exact release date of the movie in the United States is yet to be announced.

Singer D’baj reportedly has plans to sue British tabloidDaily Mail, for deformation of character. The tabloid had allegedly referred to D’banj as a “womaniser” over his relationship with Kenya Moore, a word which didn’t go down with theFinallycrooner. He reportedly toldEncomium,“It is a rumour. The story has no substance. I’m even about going to sue UK daily mail for the defamation of character. I’m discussing with my legal team. They didn’t hear from me. ” “Everything they wrote is totally wrong. They defined Koko master wrongly. I think they wanted to talk about Kenya Moore, who was a former Miss America, but they didn’t get their facts right. Everything they wrote was false .They are going to hear from my legal team, soon.”
